Stories David told.

Created by Christopher 4 years ago

I have been walking with David (well actually, behind David would be more accurate) for over thirty years, and it has been tremendous fun. Although he was a very clever and able man, he used to tell delightful stories against himself, two of which are recounted below.
He was not known for sartorial elegance. He and Margaret were staying at the Port Merion hotel, and arrived for dinner only to be told that he needed a shirt and tie. They lent him the tie, but he didn’t have a shirt with a collar, so he had to put on his pyjama top, with the borrowed tie on top.
Recently he was sitting in the cafe at Chester station with his I-pad in his rucksack. He was really surprised to hear one of his favourite music tracks coming out of a grill in the ceiling (David looks up and around whilst telling the story). He was moved to remark on this to the girl running the cafe, who told him that the grill was a ventilator, and pointed out that the music was coming from his rucksak.
I have been so lucky to have known him.
