I first met David back in 2012 and worked with him as a volunteer, both at Dibbinsdale & then Eastham Country park. I couldnt help but be impressed by Davids personality & character. A thoroughly hard working chap, who you could have a real laugh with, but at same time be able to discuss in depth just about any topic. He was inspirational, always out on his bike or doing his voluntary work, regardless of his illness and never complaining. I once joked that he should be on the Yorkshire Tea tv adverts, with the Brownlee brothers! I'll always remember having a laugh with him about the likes of Lord Flashheart in Blackadder Goes forth, or David's impression of the German assault on Arnhem Bridge, from the film Operation Market Garden, while he was standing on the top of muffin (the atv at Dibbinsdale). Personally, I've struggled with my mental health & in particular with social anxiety. Volunteering was and still is a big thing for me, but I must say that working with David made it so much more enjoyable & interesting. Taken too soon & will be dearly missed. I really feel for Margaret and Simon. Richard
