I first met David 40 years ago as a colleague at Colman’s in Norwich. Ever since then, even though our lives took us to different parts of the world, David was a dear and wonderful friend, who inspired me with his immense knowledge on so many different subjects (from Food Engineering to the Environment). David was a lovely person with a warm heart filled with humility and he had a fine sense of humour and a cheeky smile. Nimi and I enjoyed our friendship with David and Maggi and we will miss David a lot, but our good memories of David will linger on.
