Alan, Ev & Millie 12th May 2019

I met David when I worked at Eastham Country Park. He was a regular volunteer there and very soon he became a good friend. When I moved to Dibbinsdale around 2010 David came to volunteer there. He was a great support to me at this time and I know he offered the same support to others who needed it. Around about this time, David first met my dog Millie and they very quickly struck up a relationship that stood the test of time. As Millie got older, she would often not want to come to work with me on Fridays. Instead of waiting by the door when I put my boots on, she would just look at me with tired eyes through our living room door. I would say come on let’s go to work and there would be no response from her. All I had to say was come on Millie, lets go and see David and she would be up like a shot and out of the door. Millie and I will miss David’s friendship, sense of humor and his energy. From my perspective, the way he dealt with his illness was inspirational. Rest in peace David. Alan, Evelyn and Millie
